What is co-witness?

Co-witness describes how an optic aligns with iron sights. Absolute co-witness places the dot at the same height as the iron sights. Lower-third co-witness places the iron sights lower in the optic window.

My micro dot has a canted front lens. Is that normal?

Yes, many reflex optics use a slightly angled front lens. This helps reflect the aiming point back to the user and is normal on many red-dot and micro-dot designs.
