DETAILS

SIG SAUER MPX PCC 9mm 16-Inch Carbine – Timney Trigger

The SIG SAUER MPX PCC 9mm 16-Inch Carbine – Timney Trigger is a semi-automatic pistol-caliber carbine built around SIG SAUER’s gas-operated MPX architecture.

The later 35-round commercial package is identified as RMPX-16B-9-35, while the earlier 30-round package used RMPX-16B-9. Both belong to the competition-oriented MPX PCC family.

SIG SAUER MPX PCC 9mm Overview

The MPX PCC combines familiar AR-style ergonomics with a closed, locked rotating bolt and short-stroke gas-piston operating system. SIG redesigned the PCC configuration around competition use, adding a slim free-floating M-LOK handguard, Timney trigger, five-position folding/telescoping stock and three-chamber compensator.

Its receiver controls are ambidextrous, including the safety selector, magazine release, charging handle and bolt controls. The aluminum receiver also carries a full-length top rail, keeping the carbine optics ready.

The MPX uses a proprietary magazine well and dedicated 9mm operating system rather than a conventional straight-blowback PCC arrangement.

MPX PCC 9mm Chambering

The carbine is chambered in 9x19mm / 9mm Luger.

SIG designed the MPX around a proprietary magazine system rather than a Glock-pattern magazine. Later commercial packages commonly use a 35-round SIG/THRiL-pattern magazine, while earlier PCC versions were commonly supplied with a 30-round magazine.

16-Inch Hammer-Forged Barrel

The MPX PCC uses a 16-inch barrel. SIG’s factory material describes the PCC barrel as threaded and hammer forged, while MPX technical documentation identifies a 1:10 rifling twist for the 9mm platform.

The factory PCC configuration also uses a three-chamber recoil-reducing compensator. This feature is part of the competition-focused PCC package and helps visually separate it from shorter MPX K and Copperhead variants.

Timney Single-Stage Trigger

A major distinguishing feature is the factory Timney MPX trigger.

SIG introduced the Timney single-stage trigger as part of the updated competition-focused PCC package. The flat-faced trigger is one of the simplest visual ways to distinguish this later PCC configuration from earlier MPX carbines equipped with different trigger systems.

M-LOK Handguard and Folding Stock

The updated MPX PCC uses a slim, free-floating aluminum M-LOK handguard with a continuous Picatinny top rail.

At the rear, SIG fits a five-position folding/telescoping stock.

The later PCC specification is commonly listed at approximately 35.25 inches overall and 6.63 pounds unloaded. Any optic or sight set shown with a specific Gunvexa inventory item should be verified separately.

SIG SAUER MPX PCC Technical Summary

Overall, the SIG SAUER MPX PCC 9mm 16-Inch Carbine – Timney Trigger combines a 16-inch barrel, closed-bolt short-stroke piston system, Timney single-stage trigger, M-LOK handguard, folding/telescoping stock and ambidextrous controls.

The later 35-round package is identified as RMPX-16B-9-35 with UPC 798681666751. The earlier 30-round RMPX-16B-9 package is associated with UPC 798681596201, so the physical SIG box should be used as the final inventory reference.
