ZCO ZC420 4-20×50 MPCT1 Riflescope

4-20×50 Optical System

The ZC420 moves from 4x to 20x magnification and uses a 50 mm objective lens. ZCO lists a field of view of approximately 9.3 to 2 m at 100 m, eye relief greater than 90 mm and light transmission of 92%.

As a result, the model covers a useful magnification range without requiring the longer body found on many high-power optics.

MPCT1 First-Focal-Plane Reticle

This scope is fitted with the original MPCT1 reticle. The MPCT1 is a MIL-based first-focal-plane design with fine 0.2 mil graduations and a relatively open layout rather than a full Christmas-tree grid.

In addition, the reticle remains proportional to the viewed image as magnification changes. The newer MPCT1X later replaced the original MPCT1, so the two names should not be treated as identical.

0.1 MRAD Adjustment

The ZC420 uses 0.1 MRAD clicks. Factory data lists approximately 35 MRAD of elevation adjustment and 20 MRAD of windage adjustment.

Both elevation and windage turrets lock. Meanwhile, ZCO’s AIM system manages reticle illumination automatically to help conserve battery power.

Parallax and Construction

The ZC420 provides parallax correction from approximately 25 m to infinity. It also uses a first-focal-plane reticle, red/green illumination, a CR2032 battery and waterproof construction rated to 4 m.

The scope measures approximately 328 mm / 12.8 in long. At the same time, its 36 mm tube gives the central body a distinctive ZCO profile.
